However, this moderate absolute increase conceals substantial spatial shifts in hotspot locations, with expansion into currently cooler regions and contraction in hotter, drier areas.\n\nAdditionally, substantial species turnover within regional naturalized plant pools is observed, indicating not only increases in plant invasion risk, but also shifts in the composition of the alien plant species pools.","link_original":"https://www.nature.com/articles/s41559-026-03040-2","status":2,"country":[],"sections":[{"id":50,"name":"Safeguarding ecosystems and biodiversity"}],"root_section":{"id":108,"name":"Conserving Wild Nature"},"is_photo":false,"is_video":false,"is_large_font":false,"show_in_news_list":false,"url_to_show_in_news_list":"","location_filters":{"countries":[],"regions":[{"id":12,"name":"Global"}]},"filters":[]},{"id":"93782e41-3be3-48b5-8a5d-de2ed794229b","slug":"global-strategies-for-protecting-geoheritage-sites-from-mining-with-lessons-for-nigeria-and-africa-by-kamaldeen-o-l-omosanya-and-oseni-ridwan-for-springer-nature-post","created_at":"2026-03-10T13:11:32Z","views":5,"name":"Global strategies for protecting geoheritage sites from mining with lessons for Nigeria and Africa | by Kamaldeen O L Omosanya and Oseni Ridwan for Springer Nature","about":"Omosanya, K.O.L., Ridwan, O. The resulting mixture of rock, ice, and water created a fast-moving, destructive slurry that buried the village.\n\nWhile a direct link to climate change remains unconfirmed, scientists note that such high-altitude events are occurring with increasing frequency.
