"text": "This video chronicles the incredible and often perilous Arctic expeditions of Don Starkell and Victoria Jason. Initially, they attempted the Northwest Passage together, facing extreme conditions, polar bears, and severe physical tolls, leading to Victoria's early departure due to health concerns. Don, driven by obsession, continued alone, enduring frostbite, hallucinations, and near-fatal accidents, ultimately being rescued with severe injuries.\n\nVictoria, however, returned to the Arctic to complete the passage on her own terms, first by paddling the Mackenzie River and then navigating the treacherous Arctic Ocean. Her solo journey highlighted her resilience and deep connection to the North, as she encountered wildlife and forged bonds with local communities. She became the first woman to kayak the Northwest Passage, later dedicating herself to supporting Inuit communities.",

"text": "National parks protect Australia’s unique landscapes, wildlife, and ecosystems. They are vital for biodiversity, offering safe habitats for 70% of NSW’s threatened species. Parks also deliver major economic benefits—nature tourism generates $19 billion in NSW and supports thousands of jobs. Socially and culturally, they preserve Aboriginal heritage and offer spaces for community connection. National parks also promote health and wellbeing, offering places to relax, exercise, and reconnect with nature. They provide ecosystem services like clean water, climate regulation, and natural disaster protection, making them essential to both the environment and our quality of life.",

Developed by European Energy and Mitsui & Co., it produces 42,000 tonnes of e-methanol annually using renewable energy and biogenic CO₂. Positioned next to Northern Europe’s largest solar park, the facility aims to decarbonize hard-to-electrify sectors. Key offtakers include A.P. Moller – Maersk, the LEGO Group, and Novo Nordisk, which will use the low-emission fuel in shipping, plastics, and product manufacturing. The project showcases Power-to-X technology and highlights the importance of international collaboration in accelerating the energy transition.",

"text": "Hydrogen is the only storage option, which enables the storage of much larger volumes of electrical energy. This article contributes an assessment of the continuous supply of green hydrogen throughout the year, which takes the utilisation of fluctuating able resources into account. Europe's future demands for hydrogen storage capacities and for hydrogen as a vehicle fuel, the current status of hydrogen storage in salt caverns & their engineering parameters have been examined in detail. The advantages of salt caverns have been shown to be the extremely high tightness of the salt rock mass, low specific construction costs, and the small footprint required above ground. Another important prerequisite for the construction of salt caverns is the potential to dispose large quantities of saturated exhaust brine in an environment-friendly way produced. The hydrogen storages' researches continues to gain momentum even faster than it was predicted by reputable global analytical agencies",

"about": "Half of all plastic produced on Earth is designed to be used only once. Plastic bags, plastic straws, plastic bottles all come in single-use containers. In this episode of One Small Step, Lucy explores whether reusable containers are the future.",
"text": "The average American produces 4.4 pounds of waste per day, and within that waste you will find a ton of single-use plastics that are contributing to the crisis of plastic pollution. Straws, bags, bottle caps, and more end up in our oceans harming sea creatures and even ending up in the food we eat in the form of microplastics. \n\nSo, it is time we take a closer look at other options and consider reusable containers as an alternative to single-use plastic.\n\nReusables are nothing new. It’s the old milkman model. A milkman would deliver full bottles to your door and later he’d pick up the empty containers, clean them, and reuse them. \n\nThis system was a closed loop, where the bottle was used again and again.",
