"name": "Healthline: These are the best diets for overall health in 2024",
"about": "Each year, U.S. News & World Report assembles a panel of medical and nutrition experts to evaluate the most popular diets and determine which ones are best supported by scientific evidence. This article summarizes their findings.",
"text": "According to the U.S. News & World Report panel, the three best diets are the Mediterranean diet, the DASH (Dietary Approaches to Stop Hypertension) diet, and the MIND (Mediterranean-DASH Intervention for Neurodegenerative Delay) diet. These diets received scores of 85.1%, 75.4%, and 60.7%, respectively.\r\nBarbara Kovalenko, an RDN and nutrition consultant at Lasta.app, states that the Mediterranean diet supports cardiovascular health by focusing on heart-healthy fats such as olive oil and omega-3 fatty acids from fish. Kovalenko also notes that the DASH diet is aimed at promoting healthy blood pressure levels through reduced sodium intake, which further benefits cardiovascular health. The MIND diet, a combination of the Mediterranean and DASH diets, is designed to enhance brain health and reduce the risk of cognitive decline with age. Adopting these diets can bring various health benefits, including improved heart health, reduced inflammation, and better brain function.",

"text": "According to the SCI, a global network of innovators, the new law will oblige EU countries to first monitor and then assess the health of all soils on their territory. MEPs are proposing a five-tier classification system to assess soils health. These tiers are: high, good, moderate ecological status, degraded, and critically degraded. Soils with either good or high ecological status would be considered healthy.\n\nMEPs are also supporting the requirement to draw up a public list of the estimated 2.8 million potentially contaminated sites across the EU. This list must be available no more than four years after the Soil Monitoring Law comes into force. EU countries will also have to investigate, assess, and clean up contaminated sites to address unacceptable risks to human health and the environment. Costs must be paid by polluters in the line with the ‘polluter pays’ principle.",

"text": "According to the Movement's Manifesto, by 2050, the global population may reach 9.7 bn, doubling economic activity. Urbanization, automation, and rising living standards will drive up energy demand—and with it, CO₂ emissions. Energy efficiency isn’t optional—it’s essential. It cuts emissions, improves air and water quality, and strengthens energy security. As the ‘first fuel’ of a net-zero future, the solutions already exist—we just need to collectively scale them up.\n\n- Academia must boost research and provide evidence to inform decisions on energy efficiency.\n- Tech companies must drive innovation to accelerate energy efficiency gains.\n- Policymakers must incentivize the rapid adoption of energy-efficient technologies and invest in efficiency measures.\n- Investors must reallocate capital toward companies driving energy efficiency.\n- Non-profits and NGOs must inform, engage, and advocate for energy efficiency.",

"text": "According to the European Union Critical Raw Materials Act, project promoters must apply for recognition of their projects as strategic, including classifying the project using the United Nations Framework Classification for Resources (UNFC). This classification helps assess the project's sustainability, technical maturity, and economic viability, as well as its social and environmental sustainability. While the classification is not a determining factor for recognizing a project as strategic, it provides essential information on the project's strengths, weaknesses, and potential barriers or opportunities. Specifically, the classification may highlight the need for expedited permits or financial support, facilitating targeted policy interventions. Given the 2030 production goal, the UNFC classification serves as a tool for continuous monitoring and adjustment of projects to optimize outcomes.",

Nevertheless, digital equipment generates ever growing environmental impacts and the digitisation of our societies results in a digital divide that must be addressed.\r\n\r\nIn this context, GreenTech Forum Brussels is the new professional event dedicated to Tech and Sustainability. It will bring together in Brussels nearly 750 participants committed to Green IT and IT for Green.\r\n\r\nPlaced under the patronage of Planet Tech'Care and co-organised by the Belgian Institute for Sustainable IT, Numeum, and SustAIn.brussels, GreenTech Forum Brussels is a unique event in Belgium. It will allow all technology and sustainability stakeholders to meet, discuss issues, share their expertise and draw up perspectives, to continue the deployment of GreenIT and IT for Green.",

"about": "This video explains what scientists believe lies inside a black hole — from the event horizon to the mysterious singularity where the laws of physics break down.",
"text": "According to current scientific understanding, a black hole is not an empty void but a region of space where gravity is so strong that nothing, not even light, can escape. The outer boundary is known as the event horizon; once crossed, information cannot return to the outside universe. Beyond this point, matter is thought to collapse toward a singularity — an infinitely dense point where space and time become extremely distorted. Because no signals can escape from inside a black hole, scientists cannot observe its interior directly. Instead, they rely on indirect evidence such as the behavior of nearby stars, glowing accretion disks, and gravitational waves. While some theories propose alternatives to singularities, what truly exists inside a black hole remains one of the greatest unanswered questions in modern physics.",

"about": "Today, the internet stands as one of the most potent resources for learning, earning, maintaining connections, and influencing our global landscape. However, billions of individuals still lack the necessary access to participate in online activities.",
"text": "According to a report published on the Connect Humanity website, based on survey responses from over 7500 participants spanning 136 countries, it presents the most extensive mapping to date of the digital obstacles confronting civil society organizations and the communities they serve. The report offers insights into various issues such as access, affordability, digital skills, policy, and funding for initiatives promoting digital equity.\nWhile 95% of surveyed organizations emphasized the internet's indispensable role in their operations, three out of four expressed that limitations in internet access, tools, or skills hinder their ability to effectively serve their communities. This underscores the critical importance of internet access today, not only as a fundamental right but also as a cornerstone for the success of all civil society organizations.\nIn line with other rights-based movements, it is imperative for civil society to take a leading role in addressing this issue.",

SPGCI reported that the Zi 201 well initially produced 26.1 million cubic feet per day (MMcf/d), a commercial rate that could signify the entry of the Cambrian formation into a new phase of large-scale shale gas development.\n\nCurrently, only two of China’s national oil companies—CNPC and the China Petroleum and Chemical Corporation (Sinopec)—produce shale gas, mainly from the existing fields in the Silurian Longmaxi formation of the Sichuan Basin. At an average depth of 11,500 feet, the Silurian Longmaxi shale formation is shallower than the Low Cambrian.",

As a result, the mountain peak has been a pilgrimage centre for over 1000 years. Whatever it's religious significance, this famous landmark offers some breathtaking views of the hill country and an enchanting wilderness sanctuary.\r\nThe majority of climbers begin their ascent at night in order to arrive at the top in time for a magical sunrise when the mystical shadow of the peak is perfectly cast across the clouds.",

"about": "This year’s Energy Outlook is focused on two main scenarios: Current Trajectory and Net Zero.",
"text": "According to Spencer Dale, Chief economist, the world is in an ‘energy addition’ phase of the energy transition in which it is consuming increasing amounts of both low carbon energy and fossil fuels. The history of energy has seen several past phases of ‘energy additions’, for example the rapid increase in coal as the world shifted from the use of wood as its primary energy source to coal, and later the sharp increases in oil as it displaced coal as the dominant energy form. But in each of these cases, the world continued to consume similar or greater amounts of all types of energy. The challenge is to move – for the first time in history – from the current energy addition phase of the energy transition to an ‘energy substitution’ phase, in which low carbon energy increases sufficiently quickly to more than match the increase in global energy demand, allowing the consumption of fossil fuels, and with that carbon emissions, to decline.",

"about": "Under the RaaS business model, a robotics company doesn’t sell robots outright. Instead, it leases them out to customers for short-term or long-term use under a subscription model.",
"text": "According to Hardfin website, the RaaS market is growing at a rapid pace, widely measured in the billions of dollars and growing rapidly at annual rates of 15–20%. This market boom is being driven by the growing demand for automation across industries. Businesses across industries—healthcare, hospitality, logistics, retail, fulfillment, manufacturing, infrastructure, agriculture, and more—want to automate repetitive and tedious tasks.\nCompanies need to improve productivity, efficiency, consistency, and safety. Labor shortages and increased labor costs drive a rush to remain competitive. RaaS removes the barrier to entry. It provides a flexible and affordable way for companies to access advanced automation without significant up-front investments.",

"about": "The Government of Canada’s carbon capture and storage activities are very productive. Still, it needs more support and investment, particularly from the US.",
"text": "According to EnergyNow.ca, the concern over climate change in Canada has spurred attention toward carbon capture and storage (CCS) technologies. Highlighting over 265 active or in-progress projects globally, Canada stands out as a leader in this arena, with initiatives like the Solid Carbon Project and ventures by companies such as Carbon Engineering. However, while Alberta emerges as a front-runner in CCS, concerns loom over federal support and investment incentives, potentially jeopardizing Canada’s edge in this vital climate action sphere. The government’s efforts and partnerships in carbon capture are commendable but require more substantial backing to sustain Canada’s position as a climate innovation leader.",
