This initiative aims at supporting and guiding sports actors in achieving global climate change goals.\r\n\r\nSports organizations can display climate leadership by engaging together in the climate neutrality journey. They can achieve this by taking responsibility for their climate footprint, which in turn will incentivize climate action beyond the sports sector, and therefore help global ambition step-up in the face of the threat posed by climate change.\r\n\r\nUniting behind a set of principles, sports organizations and their communities have created an initiative by collaborating in order to position their sector on the path of the low carbon economy that global leaders agreed on in Paris: Sports for Climate Action",

With the ocean economy already supporting over 100 million jobs and projected to exceed $5 trillion by 2050, it offers major economic and environmental opportunities.\n\nIFC’s Blue Finance Guidelines Version 2.0 help investors and financial institutions identify and structure credible blue investments—such as blue bonds, loans, and sustainability-linked instruments—across areas like water security, marine conservation, plastics recycling, shipping, and aquaculture. "text": "Women in Ukraine face rising displacement, unpaid care burdens, gender-based violence, and a widening pay gap, yet they are increasingly leading businesses, local governance, and even military service. The OECD blog underscores that turning URC2025’s commitments into action means weaving gender equality into all official development assistance, especially governance and humanitarian aid where integration remains weak. It calls on development partners to work with implementing agencies and private actors to embed gender considerations from the start of programmes through gender analyses, tailored indicators, and support for women-owned enterprises. Finally, it urges flexible, multi-year funding for Ukrainian women’s rights organisations, which provide critical emergency and recovery services but face looming financial shortfalls.",

As part of the COP30 “Mutirão” (Call to Action), the initiative invites governments, institutions, journalists, and civil society to submit concrete solutions—such as tools, campaigns, and research—to improve the integrity of climate information. Selected initiatives will be highlighted at COP30 in November 2025. For the first time, climate disinformation has been included in the official COP Action Agenda, reflecting growing concern from leaders like President Lula and UN Secretary-General Guterres over how misinformation undermines science, public trust, and multilateral efforts.",

He has ordered federal agencies to explore retaliatory tariffs, matching US tariff rates to those that other countries have imposed on the US and just this week, floated the idea of 25% tariffs on auto, pharma and chip imports.",

"text": "On 27 February, a research team from Riga Technical University (RTU), SIA «Vianova» and the Latvian State Institute of Wood Chemistry will receive a Certificate of Recognition from the Latvian Academy of Sciences (LAS) for a significant scientific achievement of 2025 – the development of a bio-asphalt mixture containing the renewable biopolymer lignin. \n\nThe research project demonstrates that the gap between science and industry can be successfully bridged by creating practically applicable and sector-relevant innovations. The researchers managed to replace 48% of the new bitumen binder – 20% consisting of lignin and 28% of the bitumen component from reclaimed asphalt. Reclaimed asphalt combined with the biopolymer lignin is a promising solution that reduces dependence on new fossil-based materials while also lowering CO2 emissions, thereby significantly reducing the sector’s environmental impact, - explains the researcher Rolands Izaks.",

"name": "Healthline: These are the best diets for overall health in 2024",
"about": "Each year, U.S. News & World Report assembles a panel of medical and nutrition experts to evaluate the most popular diets and determine which ones are best supported by scientific evidence. This article summarizes their findings.",
"text": "According to the U.S. News & World Report panel, the three best diets are the Mediterranean diet, the DASH (Dietary Approaches to Stop Hypertension) diet, and the MIND (Mediterranean-DASH Intervention for Neurodegenerative Delay) diet. These diets received scores of 85.1%, 75.4%, and 60.7%, respectively.\r\nBarbara Kovalenko, an RDN and nutrition consultant at Lasta.app, states that the Mediterranean diet supports cardiovascular health by focusing on heart-healthy fats such as olive oil and omega-3 fatty acids from fish. Kovalenko also notes that the DASH diet is aimed at promoting healthy blood pressure levels through reduced sodium intake, which further benefits cardiovascular health. The MIND diet, a combination of the Mediterranean and DASH diets, is designed to enhance brain health and reduce the risk of cognitive decline with age. Adopting these diets can bring various health benefits, including improved heart health, reduced inflammation, and better brain function.",

"text": "The interest to Artemia focuses on two topics: its use as an aquaculture feed in fish/shellfish larviculture, and as a model organism in toxicology assessments. This study was a global scientometric review of Artemia literature for last several decades, aimed to identify the current trends, research gaps in the study of Artemia around the world. This study offers a valuable perspective and profound understanding for researchers, farmers, and consortia interested in promoting Artemia as a sustainable live food in the global aquaculture industry. Artemia has become a crucial live food for the early phase of juvenile production in the aquaculture industry, especially in marine fish culture. The USA, Brazil, Spain, India, China, Belgium, Japan, Pakistan, Italy, and Germany contributed the most published articles in Artemia research. The authors who most consistently ranked highly was Brian N. Meyer, from Purdue University and Patrick Sorgeloos, from Ghent University, Belgium",

"about": "For individual homeowners, incorporating features like stable foundations, base isolation systems, reinforced shear walls, and reinforced connections can significantly enhance a home's resistance to earthquakes and other natural disasters.",
"text": "As natural disasters like wildfires, floods, earthquakes, and hurricanes become more frequent across the U.S., resilient home design is gaining importance to protect property and lives. Resilient architecture involves site-specific planning and the use of durable materials to withstand environmental hazards. For wildfire-prone areas, creating defensible space and using fire-resistant materials like metal roofing and tempered glass windows are key strategies. In earthquake zones, geotechnical soil testing, stable foundations, flexible wood framing, and reinforced connections help improve structural integrity. Early involvement of architects and engineers ensures the most effective design for local risks, reducing potential damage and improving recovery.",

"about": "Encompassing nearly 7 square miles, the Bima Salt Pans, nestled along the Bima Bay on the island of Sumbawa, Indonesia, have played a pivotal role in shaping centuries of salt production, Indonesia's trade and heritage",
"text": "Bima salt remains one of the island's most crucial commodities. But despite modern times, its production retains the essence of a cottage industry: operated by small cooperatives, the salt pans are tended to by hand, preserving the authenticity and craftsmanship of this age-old practice.\nIdeal conditions for salt production are created by the high salinity level, an extensive natural estuary system, and the hot, dry climate. This region has a historical significance dating back to times before the devastating Tambora eruption in 1815, as Dutch administrators Schelle and Tobias recorded the vital role of Bima salt in supplying various coastal regions.\nThe traditional process of salt farming involves inundating the ponds with saltwater through a network of natural and man-made waterways. Salt farming is strategically compressed into the dry season. Approaching or leaving Bima along the southern route provides a striking view of the salt pans",
