"text": "Conventional psychiatric practices tell us that if we feel bad, take this drug and it will go away. But after years of research with some of the top psychiatric practitioners in the world, we’ve found that drugs simply don’t work that well for many, and our conventional ways of healing trauma need to change. \n\nIn recent years, experts in the study of trauma have been experimenting with ‘new age’ healing mechanisms that are making massive waves for trauma patients. Some of these new healing methods include EDMR, yoga, theater and movement, neural feedback, and even psychedelics. Many of these methods have proven to be more effective than conventional pharmaceuticals. \n\nBut just like any other health regimen, what works for you might not work for your friend or neighbor. New age trauma therapy is all an experiment, and after enough experimenting, something can eventually work, healing your trauma in a unique and effective way.",

"about": "According to a recent release Mining Digital Magazine (September 22, 2023) and the report from The Oregon Group, there are ominous predictions about a prolonged supply deficit in the copper market, despite the presence of substantial global reserves",
"text": "Copper demand is poised to double, reaching 50 million metric tons (mt) by 2035. This surge in demand is attributed to the revamping of national electricity grids, the expansion of wind and solar power initiatives, and the burgeoning electric vehicle industry. Astonishingly, the energy transition is expected to necessitate more copper than the entire world has consumed from 1900 to 2021.\nDespite the vast global reserves, the report paints a bleak picture of the copper market's future, indicating an imminent supply gap of nearly ten million mt within the next decade. \nExamining key trends, the report underscores years of underinvestment on the cooper supply, escalating geopolitical tensions, and the exponential growth of industries linked to decarbonization. Despite the looming supply shortfall, copper production has yet to rebound from over a decade of neglect, plagued by issues like dwindling ore grades, ageing infrastructure, higher development costs, and minimal exploration",

The heat-vulnerable tropical ecosystem off the coast of Queensland has experienced its sharpest decline in hard coral prevalence in four decades, with a 2024 spike in ocean temperatures largely to blame.\n\nThe Australian Institute of Marine Science’s latest survey does not capture the most recent bleaching event confirmed earlier in 2025 that struck the Great Barrier Reef as well as ecosystems off the Western Australian coastline. Heat stress events in quick succession were worrying given the emerging dominance of “fast to grow and first to go” Acropora coral species.\n\nCapable of bouncing back quickly after a destructive event when given more space to expand, the fast-growing varieties were largely responsible for the previous survey’s record-high coral coverage rates.",

"text": "Coral reef fisheries serve as an essential source of nutrients in many nutritionally vulnerable coastal regions globally. Marine protected areas (MPAs) are designated zones aimed at conserving or restoring marine ecosystems, often resulting in increased reef fish biomass. This analysis examines the potential nutritional impacts of expanding a specific type of MPA—sustainable-use MPAs—that permit limited fishing. Model estimates suggest that, depending on local conditions, such expansion could enhance fish catch by up to 20%, potentially preventing between 0.3 and 2.85 million cases of inadequate micronutrient intake in coral reef nations. The findings point to the additional nutritional benefits of sustainable-use MPAs and identify priority areas where these benefits may be most significant.",

They are also crucial for millions of people, providing food, livelihoods, resources and coastal protection.\n\nMajor threats, such as over-exploitation and climate change, are jeopardising the future of coral reefs. In the last few decades, sharp declines in reef cover have occurred worldwide. This is the team's first coral reef project to restore damaged reefs in the northern waters of Nusa Penida, Indonesia.\n\nTheir long-term goal is to improve resilience by enhancing connectivity of fragmented reefs whilst protecting and preserving endangered coral species. Local team of expert divers and marine biologists passionate about the preservation of this marine ecosystem work with local people to promote positive community involvement in coral reef restoration.",

"text": "Coral reefs are on the brink of collapse, with climate change, ocean acidification, and pollution leading to a projected 70–90% loss of coral species within the next decade. Restoration efforts are crucial, but their success hinges on introducing automation to upscale efforts. \r\n\r\nThis paper presents automated deployment of coral re-seeding devices powered by artificial intelligence, computer vision, and robotics. Specifically, automated substrate classification is performed, enabling detection of areas of the seafloor suitable for coral growth, thus significantly reducing reliance on human experts and increasing the range and efficiency of restoration. Real-world testing of the algorithms on the Great Barrier Reef leads to a deployment accuracy of 77.8%, sub-image patch classification accuracy of 89.1%, and real-time model inference at 5.5 frames per second.",

"text": "Coral reefs are some of the most ecologically and economically valuable ecosystems on our planet. Covering less than 0.1% of the world’s ocean, they support over 25% of marine biodiversity and serve up to a billion people with a wide range of ecosystem services such as coastal protection, fisheries production, sources of medicine, recreational benefits, and tourism revenues.\nHowever, they are also on the frontline of the climate crisis due to their sensitivity to warming seas. As much as 50% of our coral reefs have already been lost. According to recent reports by the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC), up to 90% of reef-building corals could be lost by 2050, even if warming is limited to an increase of 1.5°C.\nWe can’t afford to lose this valuable ecosystem. As we strive to accelerate climate action to halt global warming, there is great urgency to protect our remaining reefs. How to do this is the subject of a report by the UNEP",
