"name": "The newest research of subsidence prediction above the hydrogen storages into salt arrays (June 2023)",
"about": "German scientists at Bergakademie Freiberg Technical University have published the results of own studies on prediction methods of ground subsidence above Salt Caverns for Energy Storage (predominantly, above hydrogen storages)",
"text": "Recently, it is suggested to use salt caverns to store hydrogen in context industry 4.0 for green future. The unique nature of salt caverns in the context of energy storage require special attention since salt rock is very moving and flexible enough. As a result, deformation of earth's surface develop above the underground chambers, which can have a negative effect on state of surface infrastructure. Asymmetrical surface subsidence is the most dangerous, and can lead to complicated ecological consequences. This study provides an analysis of ground movement prediction methods to determine the most appropriate approach. A focus research is the investigation of the suitability of salt caverns to assess the impact on the environment, prevent the damage of objects. Future research directions include implementing the proposed model in relation to real-world data for specific geological objects",

"text": "Salt massifs have a number of unique properties that make it possible to consider them not only as a source of salt raw materials, but also as an engineering object for underground construction. They are an excellent geological barrier, and offer vast potential for successful energy transition. Any salt-bearing basin may potentially offer creation storages inside the salt (e.g. hydrogen and compressed air, hydrocarbon), storages in the porous media surrounding the salt (CO2-storage, storage of waste brines), natural resources in the salt and surrounding sediments (geothermal energy, oil and gas). More than one \"green technology\" may be viable for application at a given salt body. \nIn-depth analysis of salt basins would be needed to reduce geotechnical risks, and improve efficiency for energy transition technologies. Much research remains to be done. Overall, there will be strong future demand for salt research, albeit, with a shift in focus",

"text": "Global hydrogen production can put a serious strain on fresh water sources, therefore, one of the most pressing issues is saltwater using, which represents 97.5% of the world's water supply. The world’s scientists must solve a number of extremely complex technological issues and evaluate all possible options for the use of sea water taking attention that the pre-desalination procedure and purifying technologies in this process are very costly. Significant research efforts have been dedicating to developing direct efficient salt-water electrolysis technologies and using renewable energy including via solar energy. International researchers have actually already succeeded in accomplishing much of their tasks, and they have successfully synthesized green hydrogen from sea water. Many scientific publications reported it. The electrolysis of salt water to hydrogen producing is now considered a promising contender for sustainable energy. Technological research and testing are ongoing",

"about": "The steel industry is experimenting with green steel projects that use hydrogen instead of carbon-intensive manufacturing.",
"text": "The steelmaking process, however, comes at a steep price for the environment, accounting for 7 to 11% of all human-made greenhouse gas emissions. Traditionally, smelters make steel by removing oxygen from iron ore through a carbothermic approach that mixes iron oxide with carbon and intense heat. Facing escalating pressure from governments and investors to reduce emissions, the steel industry is experimenting with green steel projects that use hydrogen instead of carbon-intensive manufacturing.\nExactly how hydrogen-based direct reduction works, however, is not fully understood. Binghamton University Professor Guangwen Zhou, a faculty member in the Thomas J. Watson College of Engineering and Applied Science’s Department of Mechanical Engineering, recently received a $470,700 grant from the National Science Foundation to research the process on an atomic level.",

"about": "The Global Sustainable Development Report published by the United Nations (GSDR) 2023 originated from the Rio+20 conference on sustainable development, aiming to support the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development and its 17 Sustainable Development Goals.",
"text": "Recognizing the complexity of the agenda and the need for a holistic approach, Member States called for a science-policy interface to strengthen understanding and navigation of social, environmental, and economic development objectives.\nThe report is produced every four years by an Independent Group of Scientists appointed by the UN Secretary-General. \nThe 2019 GSDR was the first such report, and the 2023 edition is scheduled for release as the world reaches the midway point of the 2030 Agenda and grapples with the challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic.\nThe upcoming 2023 GSDR will build on the previous report, providing evidence-based solutions. Emphasizing acceleration and transformation, the report will leverage science to support decision-makers in taking urgent actions to achieve sustainable development.",

They also play a crucial role in addressing climate change by contributing to clean air and water.\r\n\r\nThe publication explores various important topics, including Sustainable Development Goal 15, forest investments, the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change and AR6, forest fires, drought, and deforestation. It also focuses on how forests promote sustainable lifestyles and a circular economy, particularly in the fashion, textile, and packaging sectors, where leaders are developing sustainable relationships with forests to reduce CO2 emissions, waste, and pollution.",

The report provides a historical overview of the concept of global governance. They suggest extending the principles of sound governance seen in well-functioning national systems to the international level, encompassing the rule of law, legislation in the common interest, an executive branch for implementation, and courts for enforcement.",

"about": "The UNESCO report highlights the significance of ocean knowledge in building ecological, social, and economic resilience for achieving a sustainable ocean economy.",
"text": "The report aims to optimize the synergies between the Ocean Decade, which focuses on the science needed for the desired ocean, and the framework outlined by the Ocean Panel, which aims to ensure the long-term health and resilience of the ocean.\n\nIt presents ten Ocean Decade Challenges and Decade Objectives that guide action and collaboration in ocean science. These include addressing marine pollution, ecosystem restoration, sustainable food production, equitable ocean economy, climate change solutions, community resilience, global ocean observations, digital representation, knowlede and technology accessibility, and shifting humanity's relationship with the ocean. \n\nBy analysing various aspects of a sustainable ocean economy, the report enhances the Ocean Decade's approach to monitoring and advancing progress in achieving a clean ocean by 2030. Overall, the report emphasizes the critical role of a clean ocean in the context of a sustainable ocean economy.",
